In-Water Care:
- Avoid using swimsuits you care about in chlorine water (such as most public pools). Chlorine can cause your swimsuits to fade, stretch out, and break-down in general over time. I personally use older swimsuits in chlorine so I do not have to use my nicer ones.
- Avoid scraping them against rough surfaces such as rocks. Most recent swimsuits/leggings are pretty durable, but it is better safe than sorry (also, if you are in the ocean, it is best to avoid touching rocks and corals anyway to avoid harming sensitive wildlife.)
After-Water Care:
- Rinse with clean fresh water. This does not need to be done immediately, but the sooner the better
- Wash. There are two methods I use to wash them: the quick method, and the clean-clean method. If you swam in water that was already relatively clean, and you want to have your swimsuit available the day after, it can be hand rinsed in a shower or sink and air dried. For a deeper wash, it can usually be washed in a washing machine (I would suggest looking up the specific brand's instructions first), and air drying (or your dryer's equivalent). Avoid drying with heat or in direct sunlight if possible.
Storage:
- Store in a cool area, ideally not in direct sunlight.
